For CCJC’s recent Moving Toward Wholeness workshop, the Church Council partnered with Theatre of the Beat (supported by Mennonite Central Committee Ontario) to present the production Forgiven / Forgotten as part of our Victim’s Week offering. Moving Toward Wholeness participants were invited to attend the production after a day spent considering how to prepare victims, offenders, and communities for restorative processes. The play was also open to the public.
CCJC heard from workshop participants that the play, which explores restorative approaches to justice and raises questions about community responses to our neighbours impacted by crime, was a thought provoking and engaging finale to the day-long workshop.
Forgiven / Forgotten continues its tour across Canada, and will be staged in communities in Saskatchewan and Alberta during May and June. Click the hyperlink for dates and venues.
