On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the John Howard Society of Canada, Executive Director Catherine Latimer addresses Canadian faith communities in an open letter. Latimer salutes the role faith communities have played in humanely addressing the causes and consequences of crime. The letter asks communities to enter into a discussion about the challenges faced by people who are incarcerated, and offers support for those conversations during the week of October 21-27 2012.
