On September 27, 2012 Pierre Allard delivered the keynote address at CCJC’s 40th anniversary celebration.

In his address, Pierre explores the Biblical and theological roots of our understanding of justice in addition to considering the history of corrections in Canada throughout CCJC’s 40 years of work.  Pierre powerfully reminds the Church Council of its vision “to serve as a shining light for restorative approaches to justice and corrections”.  He challenges CCJC to enter once again into a deep discussion with our churches in Canada, to help probe the meaning of justice in light of our faith tradition, and to continue to “be that light”.

As CCJC continues to mark its 40th year of work in 2013 and we prepare to explore and answer Pierre’s call to “be that light”, we hope that you will join us in seeking restorative, hope-filled, faith-inspired responses to the crime and justice challenges we face in our communities across Canada.  Stay tuned to our discussion forum to participate in the conversation in 2013.
