Dear Valued Partners,

The 2017 National Restorative Justice Symposium will be held on traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg people, in Ottawa, ON from November 19th-21st, 2017. This event is an opportunity to convene a national gathering of practitioners, policy and lawmakers, academics and researchers, and other experts and stakeholders, to consider and assess the innovative and transformative potential of restorative justice. Restorative justice focuses on repairing harms caused by crime while holding offenders responsible for their actions, and providing an opportunity for the parties directly affected by the crime to identify and to address their needs. The purpose of the National Symposium is to raise public, social, and government awareness about the use of restorative approaches and practices, to share information, to discuss emerging issues, to increase government-community collaboration, and to create opportunities for networking and partnerships.

Accordingly, the planning committee is looking to partner with community-minded businesses and organizations in order to make this remarkable event a success. This is an opportunity for your brand to reach an engaged audience and to be part of an important discussion. There are many ways to support this event and any help, big or small, will be meaningful to us. Primarily, we are seeking financial contributions. Such assistance would enable us to bring in valuable speakers and presenters; to invite distinguished guests that may otherwise not be able to attend; and to help ensure that students and community volunteers are able to attend despite their limited budgets. We would be happy to acknowledge the support of your organization throughout the conference. Additionally, we can tailor a plan to meet your specific wishes.

We appreciate and thank you for your consideration of supporting the National Restorative Justice Symposium 2017. Your contributions make our work possible!

Many Thanks,

The planning committee for the 2017 National Restorative Justice Symposium, jointly hosted by the Collaborative Justice Program (CJP) and the Church Council on Justice and Corrections (CCJC)
