CCJC’s theme for Restorative Justice week 2015 is “Imagine Justice.”  The Church Council on Justice and Corrections has a long history of inspiring and promoting art as a way of furthering the restorative justice message. This year marks the 10th anniversary of The Justice Storytelling Quilt, a CCJC-sponsored collaborative project by multi-media artist, Meagan O’Shea.

In recognition of the anniversary, on October 1st 2015 CCJC launched our Imagine Justice Art Exhibition call for submissions.  The call for submissions asks people across Canada to submit pieces of art thematically connected to restorative justice.  The submitted works will be displayed in on online gallery throughout Restorative Justice Week (November 15-22). CCJC will be appointing a volunteer jury to award contestants for the highest judged submissions.

Infographic Series

For Restorative Justice Week 2015, the Church Council on Justice and Corrections will also be presenting a five-part infographic series to encourage our community to imagine a justice system that integrates restorative justice principles.  The infographics will be released to all of our email subscribers and through our website each day of restorative justice week 2015.

Homiletic Notes

 CCJC will also be offering a resource for those interested in marking restorative justice week through the chosen lectionary readings (Sunday November 15 and Sunday November 22).  Please check back for these resources in  early November.
